Love all of the info and photos on here. I’m currently making the white lab coat for a friend of mine for Halloween and I am making my own pattern (I’m a seamstress also, like some of you up here )

LOVE the reference between Horrible/Alien… uncanny!!! And I also love all of the great tips you’ve given. Rock on!

For those outside of the US, once I get my initial coat finished and post pictures, I will most likely offer them up for sale and I don’t mind shipping them to places like Australia and such. BUT let me finish this one. I’m good with pricing and I only use materials that would be used in real life (what they would have been made of back then… I don’t use shiny fabric for everything like some people do LOL- though I’m glad to see none of the shiny-ness up here! Hooray for serious costuming!!)

Which is also to say… the costumes Ive seen up here that people completed are awesome!!!! Keep up the great.. I mean.. HORRIBLE work!!!!! I will post pictures of the final product!!

Found a good chef jacket that could work as a good jacket option. It is 17 dollars plus about 5 dollars if you want them to write some stuff on it. 8 dollars for 5 day shipping. It is a wrap style so no buttons. I’m planning on just buying some cheap buttons and putting them on myself.

I ordered the goggles from bettymills.com. They are the green goggles with four (not six) vents that every other site is selling. Disappointing, but I’m not really surprised after reading all of the posts. At least I have them and there are lots of posts here and on LJ on how to mod them.

I did order a shirt off the site recently (within the last two weeks or so) and had no problems. The material used is a little thin but it’s fine. They are a little low on some sizes though.

Ben, you may not see this reply given it’s been a while since you posted but you could try anywhere that sells supplies for butchers and dairy farmers. You may not be able to get the exact item but you should be able to get white rubber boots.
