Dr Horrible DVD Update
We’ve got some brief updates on the DVD release of Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
International fans have been asking about the DVD region coding for Dr Horrible and we’re pleased to confirm that while it’s NTSC format the DVD is REGION FREE which means it should play in any DVD player anywhere in the world.
In other exciting news, we have it on good authority that the DVD extras will be listed on the Amazon page soon and there are now two clips available on Amazon, the original trailer and a snippet from the special features of the DVD so be sure to check them out.
We’re also planning a little competition for visitors to the Dr Horrible fan site so check back for news.

I’m an international fan, Region Free is cool, but I was wondering if the DVD comes ,at least English – Hearing Impaired subtitles or Spanish subtitles.
Can you give us detailed information about this?
Thanks!
December 2nd, 2008 at 9:39 amDoes anyone know if this will be available in any three dimensional stores on or around the 19th? I like to support local merchants when I can – and also ,too, that would mean I could get it sooner.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:50 pmIt’s great for the “Region free” confirmation!
December 2nd, 2008 at 3:22 pmI had already pre order my DVD anyway, but it’ll make things a lot easier.
I’m with Valen – subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing would make my day. Fingers crossed!
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:09 amlauratd: The amazon page now has an (Amazon.com Exclusive) notice on it, so I’m guessing that it won’t be available anywhere else this year.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:11 amElnathea: I don’t know about your coutnry, but I don’t live in the U.S (I live in Europe/Scandinavia) and we’ve ordered stuff from Amazon.com just fine. never had any troubles.
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:30 pmI got my soundtrack, listening now and ordered the DVD…..
December 4th, 2008 at 6:05 pmJust wondered why it isn’t available at amazon.ca. It costs a fortune for shipping to Canada plus extra taxes to be paid at the border ordering from amazon.com. I think UK customers would like to get it from .uk too for the same reasons.
December 8th, 2008 at 11:01 pmI really enjoyed the concept and I wanted to support this independent venture, so I bought the DVD, and thoroughly enjoyed the main feature (40 minutes) with its excellent subtitles.
However, NOTHING ELSE on the DVD is subtitled. The musical commentary, the director’s commentary, the featurettes, and the ELE Applications, are all unsubtitled. So all of the extra content is completely inaccessible to people who are deaf and hard of hearing. A real shame when only a few megabytes of data could have made such a difference…
