Dr Horrible is Number 1 in iTunes
![]() |
More reasons to celebrate today as the sheer number of iTunes downloads pushes Dr Horrible Act 1 to first place in both the ‘Top TV Episodes’ AND the ‘Top TV Seasons’.
This is a fantastic achievement! External link: iTunes |

GO US!!! Maybe the crash had some positive repercussions, making more people pay…
I really hope that this popularity helps the people involve get some money for their fantastic work!
July 16th, 2008 at 2:05 amNot on iTunes in the UK though.
We is sad in the UK.
July 16th, 2008 at 2:31 amThat’s great for the Americans and Canadians, but when will the majority of the world be able to DL? Or should I just go hunting for a torrent?
July 16th, 2008 at 2:38 amThe new server is working, it will just take a little time for the Internet to catch up. It is hard waiting but try and be patient – it will be available soon.
July 16th, 2008 at 2:52 amIs there seriously a Serenity Ringtone? Cause I see an ad for one, but I’ve looked all over before and never found one.
July 16th, 2008 at 3:40 amNew Tweet from Dr Horrible – server is up and working but it takes time to propagate – but here’s an alternate http://www.drhorrible.com.nyud.net/.
I just tried it and it works!
July 16th, 2008 at 3:54 amI really must say I wish I didn’t have to go through iTunes – I don’t mind paying, but I refuse to use iTunes. I really, really dislike their proprietary file formats – I’m too poor to afford an “actual iPod”. I’m just disappointed. And to have the site STILL unavailable, no matter which trick I try to use to access it, it’s just so disappointing.
July 16th, 2008 at 3:57 amI’ll add my voice to those asking for downloads outside the US. I’m more than willing to pay, hell, I’m even willing to deal with the itunes store for this, but it isn’t offered on itunes Germany. That makes me sad.
July 16th, 2008 at 4:12 ambought on iTunes. Enjoyed it so much. Hopefully the site will work again sometime tomorrow.
July 16th, 2008 at 5:12 amI love this, and I really want to support it, but I just don’t use iTunes. As soon as it’s available for download in some other way and/or I can order a DVD, you will definitely get my $$$!
July 16th, 2008 at 5:48 amAnyone else thinking that this whole website “crashing” thing was on purpose and was just a way to get everyone to buy it? Haha, just kidding. But seriously, I just waited for it, I mean I’m planning on buying the dvd so I don’t really need it on my itunes.
July 16th, 2008 at 5:58 ami’m a french guy, and i just wnat to say: “thank you” Mr Whedon.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:32 amneil patrick harris is delirious (like HYMYM,

can’t stop the signal of Mr whedon………….
Guys, please, we all want to pay, even if we can watch it for free, cause we respect art.
When do you think is possible to make it available on i-tunes around te globe, can´t wait for the DVD in a few months.
I-tunes Germany doesn´t know anything about it, just called them…
PLEASE !!!
We can do the impossible and that makes us mighty…
July 16th, 2008 at 5:02 pmThis is one of the best things on the internets in a long time.
I demand more Doogie Howser in a lab coat and goggles after this is done.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:04 pmWhen will Act II be available on ITUNES? Do you have to buy the season pass to get it?
July 17th, 2008 at 3:04 pmAmanda: I bought the season pass on Tuesday, and Act 2 still hasn’t shown up on iTunes.
July 17th, 2008 at 3:32 pmYeah, what’s up with that? IIRC, Act 1 was available on iTunes US at the same time as the streaming version. But Act II is lagging WAY behind.
It’s pretty uncool because the audio quality of the streaming version is really bad compared to the iTunes version.
July 17th, 2008 at 3:40 pmDr. Horrible is the coolest super villain ever! Being evil and diabolical is so much better than being a goodie goodie like Captain Hammer. Let us see the bad guy get the girl for a change.
July 17th, 2008 at 3:57 pmThis and other proactive projects like it will hopefully pave the way for new platforms of distribution. Keep up the fight guys!
Since South Africa doesn’t have an iTunes store, I’ll be waiting paitiently for the DVD.
And I’ll resist the urge to look for a torrent, since that will basically foil the whole experiment….creating a viable economic alternative to big studio monopolies.
July 19th, 2008 at 8:54 pm(I’ll never forgive Fox for what they did to Firefly…. If this thing works, we might even get some Firefly on the internet…..)
