This just in!

\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Horrible, now a member of the Evil League of Evil, has taken an application under review from Dr. Dreadful for the position of a sidekick. Dr. D's qualifications are listed as an English accent, an evil laugh and a real superpower.

Eyes are now on Dr. D to see if he has what it takes to impress the ELE.

(We already knew about the application, but now, check the comments. doctorhorrible, the official people who officially posted the official trailer, wrote an interesting comment.)

I don\'t know. Personally I\'d feel threatened by a sidekick with my title AND a superpower if I were DH. Might come across as Uppity.

Now, if you\'d chosen to use the name Nurse Dreadful, that might have fit right in, except you\'re a guy, and people might expect to see a woman when they hear the title Nurse. (Hey, don\'t blame me for society\'s expectations. Just another part of the status quo that DH can fix when he makes the world kneel to him.)

Maybe Intern Dreadful? Or even just Dreadful? Although that latter one might make for silly-ass jokes at your expense. DH points to you and says \"And this is Dreadful\". The other party would say \"I quite agree!\"

I guess there\'s really no good solution here. Might as well steal the concept from another show entirely and call yourself a cottage.

Oh wait, how about Scalpel? Or something along those lines? If you want to be considered a tool of DH that is.

blah. reading the comments on the youtube video, someone already suggested nurse dreadful. I guess I wasn\'t the only one that thought we only need the one doctor.

Well, the ELoE might not be accepting applications at the moment but Evil WorldofHiglet (my evil twin) has just finished a 6-Act webseries based in ELoE Applications Processing Office.

You can see them all on YouTube where the series has already attracted over 4000 views. There is even a competition and the lucky winner will have their Application assessed by Evil WorldofHiglet in a special bonus episode!

Head over to YouTube to watch them all and find out more:

The ELE is, in fact, accepting applications! http://www.evilleagueofevil.com/

If I wasn't already in the ELE (why don't I get invited to the meetings?), I'd just say that I can't say whether or not I'm responsible for the mayhem that's currently overwheling this little town where I live, and I'd get in just for the mere thought that I might have caused it.

(Three professionals, a medical Doctor, an Architect and a System Administrator were arguing over the oldest profession and eventually turned to theologies. The Doctor claimed that God must have been the first doctor due to the amazing surgery it would have taken to take a rib from a man and make a woman. The Architect said that, before He was a Surgeon, He was an Architect for building the Universe from nothing but Chaos. The Sys Admin said, “… but how do you think that Chaos came to be in the first place?”)

With as tied as you people are to your computers, that would be my target for disrupting the status non quo.

Unfortunately, I have a song and a design, but I have no means to realize it. I'll have to accept being the Office Assistant since I'm pretty good at everything... I run the gamut.

Can't you use a webcam or cell phone or borrow one? Be a pity to miss the opportunity....

Estimated song: 2 min. Estimated total non-song: 1 min.

The problem is that what's in my head isn't something that can work with just a webcam (and definitely not a cell phone). Song, I got. Script, I got (though I doubt the format is standard). Someone to screenplay, I don't got. People to storyboard, I don't got. Webcam, I got. Cam on rails, I don't got. Cameraman, I don't got. Tape or film, I don't got. Video toaster (or modern equivalent), I don't got. Audio mixer, I got. Audio recording equipment, I don't got. Editor, I don't got. Location, I got. Permission to use said location, I don't got. Extras, I might have. Unintended extras, I got. Actors, I don't got. Directorial experience, I don't got… and I might have to settle for a horrible crash course. A director otherwise, I don't got. Props, I got some. All the props, I don't got. Lights I don't got. Someone to help me fund all of it (a [co]-producer), I don't got. Time to dedicate to it, I doubt I got. Others with time to dedicate it to it, I doubt I got.

Far too many “I don't gots”.

Hi Gamut,

Well my evil twin has submitted her application already and I've done a little blog post with some pointers about the applications:

  • Make sure you follow all the rules on the ELE website
  • If you have a plan, script or song but you can't film it because you haven't got the right equipment/actors/instruments/location/etc think about it again. I don't know for sure but I can make a guess that the Whedons and Ms Tanchareon and their associates are looking for original ideas above the latest technology/steady camera work/fancy locations/etc. While it won't hurt to have special effects or expensive costumes don't be put off if you can't get them.
  • It's supposed to be enjoyable for you as well as your audience. If you are stressing about it then take a break and come back to it again.
  • Songs are good but not essential
  • A webcam will do - use what you have available. Most of all, if you have an idea then try and capture it with whatever you have. Don't fret if it isn't quite what you envisioned in the end. It could be better than you hoped for.
  • If you're not sure about video editing think about writing something that can be done in one take. This might make for more initial work (how many takes will it take for you to say 'Evil League of Evil' right!) but it saves time later.
Maybe you could rethink your idea a bit and make it work with what you have. It doesn't have to be the best produced and anyway - it should be fun for you to make!

I would definitely echo that. I just had a bit of fun making mine. First time I've ever did anything like this. There's no fancy camera work, most of the time the camera is static. For sound and editing I just downloaded trial software packages and played around with them.

My finished film isn't a masterpiece by any stretch, nothing as fancy as what is on the front page of this site. But I enjoyed the experience and am having a blast with the evil persona

Should also add I simply used my digital photo camera in video mode, so no fancy hardware either!

When it comes to the evil intentions of man I'm always optimistic.

I saw alot of the videos hilarious.  *stabs writer who is on this site instead of writing my tale of glory.* Grrrrrrrr seriously stop writing this and get back to the book already The Green Dragon Must Be Told. *slinks away with tail between legs*

I am The Green Dragon I leave no trail behind. I go about my evil deeds without stressing my mind. No one has ever caught up to me as they say. Then again people fear me more and more each day.
