Heard about it on the IGN TV podcast, when they were talking about Dollhouse and mentioned Dr. Horrible.

A friend of mine saw Roush Dispatch and called me to tell me about it. So I was waiting anxiously for it to come out.

I read about it on Slashdot on this post. It was on the day it started, so I was lucky to find out about it and not have to wait forever before I could see it.

These are not the hammer.

Saw the logo on iTunes. After I found out more about it, I bought the season pass.

Same here-- found it on Itunes, read more about the show, and bought the season pass. Glad I did too! Dr. Horrible\'s Sing A Long Blog was refreshing and something that was more enjoyable than a lot of what\'s on tv these days!

I’ve been a huge fan of Buffy since I accidentally discovered it on BBC 2 over here at around Season 3 and of course Angel followed complete with DVD obsessiveness.
My fellow Buffy fan and I went to see this Serenity film at the Flicks that we’d heard that Whedon chap had penned and thought we should check it out… and, of course, loved it. Then bought the DVD and the Firefly series quickly followed which I also adore - how can anyone not ???

*chooses to ignore nagging memorybanks pointing out that aforementioned fellow Buffy/Angel/Serenity fan is yet to get past first 3 episodes of Firefly, as she ‘couldn’t get into it’* *bah*

Then, as I watched Serenity for the nth time the other day thought I really should check out what was happening to the Goners thing I’d read about… so one quick check of imdb.com later (along with cross-checking of Goners website) revealed my disappointment as it appears to be no more BUT, noticed the bizarre thing that was Dr Horrible…

Rolling my mouse over ‘spoiler’ it said internet series and I didn’t really know what that meant… a quick trawl found me this site and then the official release site I truly couldn’t believe my luck that I found it TWO DAYS before it was due out.

Kismet truly was on my side this month…

Of course, my work and home life have gone completely to hell as I’ve been doing nothing for the past week than watching the show and posting on various forums! I think I need help… is there a Whedon support group available??...

Yours, going through withdrawal as it’s not yet available on i-tunes over here,
Duchess x

PS sorry about the essay - I\'ve just been getting overexcited! 😉

My buddy posted something on the Dicefreaks message boards.  Which incidentally, is also where I found out that I was supposed to go watch a movie called Serenity.  And then buy a DVD called Firefly Complete Series.  So I guess Dicefreaks is responsible for me even knowing who Joss Whedon and Nathan Fillion are.

I saw Joss on VH-1\'s \"Best Week Ever\", and tuned in the same day (Saturday). Unfortunately it was the day before it was removed. I thought I might have read something in Entertainment weekly\'s top 10, but it didn\'t register. Seeing Joss\' face made it sink in! BTW, great appearance on the show...

I hadn't heard a thing about it until they posted the link on Penny Arcade. Then within a few hours I had watched all three acts and downloaded them on iTunes.

Philadelphia Morning Show. Preston and Steve. That show rocks. It was mainly mentioning some news that Joss Whedon may have a new hit on his hands in the form of a Musical. It was basically some random news story, but my familarity with FireFly and Serenity made me look into it. I looked around on YouTube and listened to the songs, and I was hooked. I made an iTunes account just to get Dr. Horrible.

i saw it mentioned on a lietrary agent\'s blog and didn\'t have time to check it out, then saw it again on a book review site and watched acts I and II.

Wasn\'t a devoted Joss fan before, but might be now. Enjoyed the Firefly episodes I\'ve seen on Sci-Fi marathons and have considered buying the set.

I actually was so bored of not having seen anything lately from Mr. Whedon that I googled him and found this site and then the link to the official site where I saw the three acts like ten times before they went down. Went to itunes to download it (no, no way, your account is not linked to an American card!!!!!) so I resorted to youtube and got in contact with an American friend who will buy it for me and will send it to me with megaupload or something.

I have sent the link in various forums, sent emails...well, spread the good word.

I am hooked, I hear all the songs in my head everytime of the day...I sing all day...I cannot wait for the DVD and the CD. I will watch it/hear it fanatically.

I think the end is magnificent (and I cried, not the first time because I felt numb but the second, third, ...times) but there is another thread about it...

My friend referred me to the site. At first, I didn't care to give it the time of day, since the beginning was so slow. But my friend got upset (justifiably!!) and I promised I'd watch it.

It wasn't until I started researching it until I found out that it was written by Whedon. I saw and completely loved Firefly and Serenity, and thought it was clever and had a true mark of genius. I never saw Buffy. Now, I think I'm going to jump onto the fan-wagon and follow Whedon wherever he goes...

A good friend I made through the Firefly 'verse first told me about it several months ago. I wasn't too intrigued…I don't like musicals very much, but figured I would give it a try. I made a mental note about the rollout dates, but got busy at work, and forgot about it.

Another friend who knew I was a Whedon fan (actually, all of my friends know it. Some wish they didn't.) forwarded me the link to the site the day before it went live. I watched the trailer, and all of my misperceptions evaporated. DH was going to be a ride! Next day, when I couldn't get through to the site due to heavy traffic, I was tickled that the response was so strong, and high-tailed myself to iTUNES, well, because, as being in the U.S., I could.

I watched Act 1, 4 times.

I watched Acts 2 and 3 back to back, since I was away from the computer for 4 days.

I watched them both…once.

Now I post here, in preparation for someday watching it again.

Originally, I think someone briefly mentioned it to me when we were talking Jossverse stuff.  However, all my online communities have been steadily bringing it up until it reached the point where I couldn't avoid talk of it and had to see it.

My friends heard about it through the fan grapevine, or through Whedonesque, or other online (not-necessarily Joss or even entertainment-related) communities.

In middle school and high school I snuck behind my strict-as-hell mom's back to watch Buffy, which I really liked.  However, Firefly was my gateway drug to fandom.  I'm not hardcore for anything as much as I am for Serenifly.

Trying to decide between dressing up as Bad Horse or Inara this DragonCon.  Hmm.

It depends which report you read, but you're probably right, hopefully we'll have some official confirmation (details) soon.

You can help get the word out by digging the news http://digg.com/television/Dr_....._Announced

Also through ctrl+alt+del. So glad I found it though, I\'m a big fan of firefly and serenity(but never really got into the online community), so when I saw that it was Joss Whedon, I was really excited about it. Big fan of musicals too.

I\'ve introduced all of my firends that might be even remotely intested in it, and I couple that never would be just because.

Picture if you will: It's Thursday July 17th, and it's a slow afternoon at the library.  I'm checking e-mail or something in our workroom, and my co-worker Cindy is watching...something or other on the next monitor over.  I'm not paying attention; I figure it's some YouTube thing or another.  Then the singing starts up.  Singing?  Okay, this sounds interesting, might be like the clip she found a few months back of the improv group staging a musical in a mall food court. (Me=major music theater geek)  I lean over...and do a double take.

\"Is that Neil Patrick Harris?\"

So yeah, I nearly missed out on the whole free viewing thing.  Luckily I didn't.
