Do you think the Sing-along Blog would convert to a stage performance without too much being left out or having to be changed? Not broadway level, more like college or wealthy high school. Second question would be what degree of minefield would you have to go through to secure the rights to it.

Okay...To answere your first question...You wouldn't have to change a lot of things. Sure the car thing in the hiest part may have to be changed but other than that I don't think you should have any problems.

Directing attention to your second question...I have no idea what you would have to do. That is a very good question. I can ask some people who might know and get back to you by like Wednesday.

This is very intersting because I was actually in the process of creating an edited script to fit a stage production of Dr. Horrible. It was just for fun for a while, and now I was searching to see who the rights would have to be obtained from to actually put on a show of it. I think I have most of the kinks pressed from my general outline on what would have to be changed. I would be very interested to know if the rights could be given to something like a high school for a non-profit production. So it would be much appreciated to get this information.

Thank you

Hi all,

I'm a high school drama teacher and i'm hoping to get a Dr. Horrible production off the ground for the spring semester. I e-mailed the contact, but I'd like to get this squared away ASAP. Please let me know how I can do this as above board and legal as possible! Scripts and scores would help immensely.

Thanks!

As for scripts, there are none. I am working on a stage adapted script in my free time, so in time...

As for scores, http://moseslei.net/drhorrible.html

They aren't all completed yet, but there are many fill scores and almost all have a piano reduction.

Do you have permission to be doing it Bryce?  If not I suggest you seek permission right away.

What permission is there to get?  I know several companies who want to do \"legal\" stage performance, and there has been little or no response to this query.

Graham B, I've asked permission to put on a stage production of Dr Horrible, could I please use your karaoke versions of the songs if I can put it on? They're absolutely spot on. 🙂 Must have taken you ages!

Those karaoke tracks aren't mine. I am personally working on a orchestral recording of the tracks, but they wont be done for quite some time.

If you want to use those tracks on that page, scroll down a bit to the contact information and contact him through that venue.

I saw Bryce's version onstage. Great stuff, even if it happened without official permission.

There has to be an easier way to obtain performance rights for Dr. Horrible, otherwise more questionable (but wonderful) stuff like this will happen. I've yet to hear of anyone who received a response from the powers that be.

Can we expect anything soon, Admin? (Please, please!)
