Hi all

I'm a developer of the Ninja Ropes game.

Love the musical and the commentary too. My favourite song (no surprise) is “Ninja Ropes”. An absolute masterpiece!

Yep, I definitely think that's a strong song on the soundtrack.  Jed's vocal arranging skills are formidable.

That's got to be a developer's dream come true, eh?

I doubt they will release a soundtrack, though if they did I'd buy it. For now I'm working on cutting up the audio track into pieces to make .mp3 files out of the songs, as well as the talking pieces in-between. If played without pauses, it would be just like listening to the track off of the DVD.

If you could post the songs of \"Commentary! The Musical,\" that would be completely fantastic.

I checked out spidra's myspace lyrics, and if she's still looking for edits:  Harry Reasoner (TV newscaster who used to be on 60 Minutes) is the guy who died after falling down the stairs.

Harry Reasoner died from a fall in his home.  Harry Wismer died from falling down stairs specifically.

Wow, that's a bizarre coincidence.  Harry Reasoner fell down the stairs too, actually, but you're right, it sounds like Wismer.  I was jumping to conclusions b/c I immediately thought of the David Brinkley reference in OMWF.

Harry Reasoner was the first guy I thought of.  I hate sports and thus had never heard of Harry Wismer before.  I couldn't find specific info about Harry Reasoner's fall *plus* it just sounded more like Wismer. So I did a little Googling and figured it was Wismer.

Really? Nobody else liked Zack's Flav? That has to be my #1 followed closely by Ninja Ropes.

Zack is Doing Us a Little Favor is absolutely my favorite song. I thought that would be temporary as I got to know the soundtrack better, but it has remained #1 (even though I'm not a hip-hop fan).  That's not only because the tune is hookier than a fisherman's convention but because the lyrics very strongly tell a story without extraneous nonsense stuffed in just because it rhymes and, finally, because Zack's delivery of the song is \"singing acting\" at its best.

To be honest, all the songs are so fantastic that I change my mind which is my best one every time I read someone on here rave about their top choice.

So what I'd like to know is - what are people's *least* favourite songs? I know it's really hard to chose.

There are so many awesome songs.  Much happiness.

As an aside, in Felicia's song during the fast bit, she has the curious line \"The Hair and the Cheese on the Guild Second Season\".   Now it seems clear to me that \"the Hair and the Cheese\" means Nathan.  So is she hinting that Captain Tighthammer himself will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the Guild?!  If so, squee! (in a masculine way)

The stuff Felicia's saying there comes fast and furious so I consider almost all of my transcription of it to be tentative.  We won't know for sure until they update the official site with lyrics.  Though they tweeted about it yesterday afternoon, the official site still doesn't have lyrics to Commentary!: The Musical yet.

Actually I transcribed Felicia's fast bit independently, before I even saw the fantastic job you did.  We agree on that line, and most of the others (I have Neil drinking \"Red Bull\" not \"ripple\" which I think makes a lot more sense, and I kind of think that the second half of the horse line is \"now steady's all crabby\", meaning Felicia's RL boyfriend got in a bad mood for some reason)

Ah!  I think you're right that Red Bull is more likely.  Although Ripple is way funnier.

I'm waiting with 'bated breath to see what the real lyrics are. It's always funny to check out what mondegreens you've been singing in ignorance...

I'm sure someone will post them to the web eventually, I just don't want to be the one to do it as it my discourage people who don't have the DVD from buying it if they can just hear Commentary! online. Hopefully an official soundtrack comes to fruition.

You know, it may mean BOTH of them will be on The Guild (which would ROCK).  I mean, when I hear \"the hair\" I think of Dr. Horrible, mostly because NPH's hairdo seemed so much a part of his character, \"up\" when he was horrible, flat and nerdy when he was Billy Buddy.  Cheese is obviously Captain Hammer though.

I must say that listening to the regular commentary (as opposed to Commentary! The Musical) I assume \"The Hair\" is Nathan because they do go on about his heroic hair a lot!

I do love Neil's Horrible-hair though! All sticky-up-y.

Hahaha I'm listening to it right now. Oddly enough my faveorite song is Zack Whedon's it's great. \"Zack is doing us a little favor. Blessing Commentary with his flavor.\" XD

I am The Green Dragon I leave no trail behind. I go about my evil deeds without stressing my mind. No one has ever caught up to me as they say. Then again people fear me more and more each day.

Please do NOT post MP3 files of anything from Dr. Horrible.  Regardless of your intentions it is a breech of copyright.

I love how Nathan and Neil argue with each other through the whole thing. Except at the very very end. XD

As eager as any for the official lyrics, I need to posit this interpretation for the second half of the horse line. Following \"A horse -- not too shabby\" I hear:

\"no stud: he\'s all crabby.\"

This fits better with the horse theme. Does anyone know if Dobbin the actor-horse is a gelding?

spidra, may your fingers never cramp -- your timely transcription is excellent!

Also, can anyone clarify some of the other references in the songs? I somehow doubt the official lyrics, once posted, will be annotated:

1. In the same song, to whom does the line, \"The soldier-boy extra\" refer? My only thought is Zack Whedon (mostly because he has short hair).

2. In \"Neil\'s Turn,\" does the Frankenstein reference mean something specific -- to Nathan Filion\'s career, perhaps? I\'ve not scrutinized IMDB enough.

3. The \"Fame\" remake reference in \"$10 Solo\" leads to Kevin Tancharoen -- relative of Maurissa\'s, yes?

4. Joss\' song (\"Pick-A-Part\") gave me pause. The others are tongue-in-cheek, so are his anti-fan sentiments in these lyrics meant to parody those of other, more hidebound filmmakers? Or does he really not like all the citizen journalism that causes fans to populate sites like this (wonderful!) one?

5. Does \"J-Mo\" in that same song refer to Jed and Maurissa? Or someone else?

Advance thanks for help,
CJacob
