Dr. Henry Charm

Is it possible that they might try and find a way to bring penny back or will they introduce another love interest or will they bring up Penny's not so well known twin sister?

It's something for you fans to think about.

Well I found this article that discuss some questions asked to Felicia Day about her possible role in the Dr Horrible sequel, she think Penny the Robot would be cool but other fans like the idea of zombie Penny.

Although the idea of the identical twin appeals to me.

Also there is a bit of a discussion at IMDB that some fans want to Kristen Bell (Most famous for Veronica Mars) to appear in the sequel. She has a relativity good voice and can pull off a great balance of dramatic and eccentric. I can see her doing a good job as a fellow villain/love interest for Dr Horrible.

Yikes, a zombie?  I certainly hope not.  One of the things I like about "Dr. Horrible" as a story is that the superpowers/high-technological aspects are very secondary to the story.  Yeah, we hear the tale about Captain Hammer lifting an automobile (which is truly a super-human feat) but we don't see it, thus leaving the watching of the true event up to our imaginations.   We don't have to see it on the screen to know how super-human Captain Hammer is.

And likewise, we don't have to see a whole lot of technology to know that Dr. Horrible is a genious.  There are a couple choice moments, like watching the remote transmitter fly a hundred yards and attach itself to a van, and seeing the Freeze/Death Rays in action.  And I know the show was low budget, but that's besides the point.  The storytelling was good enough that it didn't have to rely on effects or visual gimmicks or movie logic or anything other than humanity and emotions.

I'm not saying Zombies don't have a time and a place.  But come on.  I think that would really cheapen the universe that Billy/Dr. Horrible/Captain Hammer, et. all live in.  Even though there are super-men and Freeze Rays, it feels kind of like reality, because the story is not about those things, it's about people and dynamics.   Add zombies, and it becomes.... something else.  Something lesser, IMHO.

I'd be game for another love interest... I guess.   But what I'd rather see is something less conventional and less predictable.  I'm not as creative as Joss, I think.  So I'm hoping he could come up with something that will surprise me and keep me interested.  I want to see Billy grow as a person.  If Billy does that in some way, that's automatically going to generate conflict in his world.  I think those are the most interesting kinds of stories.  Man vs. Self.  That's what the first film was really about, right?   Dr. Horrible vs. Capt. Hammer to some extent, but I see it more as Billy vs. Dr. Horrible.   And I think Dr. Horrible came out on top... but the last shot leads me to believe that Billy knows that was a loss and not a victory.  There's more battle to be done on that front.  That's what I hope to see in any forthcoming film.
