Something I want to see in Act 4 is more information of who Penny was before becoming an activist for the homeless? I think there is a lot of potentional and underlying meanings that could be explored from the very vague bits of information we know about her. We know that:

- She grew up \"Lost and Lonely\"
- Denied and fired from prior jobs
- She\'s afraid to show her true feelings to Captain Hammer (at that point?)
- She had a tough (love?) life prior to meeting Hammer (\"Years of stormy sailing\")
- She claims (along with Horrible) that \"There\'s no happy ending, so they say. Should I stop pretending...\"

Much of this can be written off as her being meek when it comes to love but if we create subtext it almost sounds like Penny herself was a failed villian/hero now trying to leave that life behind her. How long do we know that Billy has been lusting after her? I\'ll give him some credit that he would have at least made an attempt to talk to her within a YEAR. But who was Penny before then?

That would be a fun twist! Not that I want Penny to come back from the dead in Acts 4+ or for time and space to be distorted so that she never died.. but I would love knowing more about her.

Billy has been attracted to Penny at the laundromat for several months (quote: \"It's so dumb that we've been coming here so long and never spoke!\" \"Yeah, all those months doing this stunningly boring chore.\")

I think Penny's backstory is interesting if it's relevant to the plot. But if she's dead and NOT coming back, then I don't see how it would fit in, you know?

I want him to be haunted by her... seeing her everywhere, hearing her speak to him, even talking to her, but it's all in his head. (Like Baltar.) Emotional trauma can do that.

The gamut determines the acceptible range of conditions. It's Genius' Awesome Sauce in an 8oz. glass bottle with a cork stopper.

Anyone who's followed Joss's works in the past will tell you that evil Penny is a very BIG possibility.  Joss is a genius but he has one flaw: he *never* does the obvious thing and because of that he can be sometimes predictable.  Add to that that I can't see any reason for him to leave the actress out of the next installment and you pretty much have a 95% Evil-Pennys (as the weatherman might say).

His killing of Penny was incredibly predictable for Joss-Fans, because it was 1) shocking 2) someone innocent and 3) Penny was a \"normal\" type of girl rather than a \"slayer\" type of girl.  Joss invariably stabs at the heart, on Buffy that meant Tara, on Angel that mean Fred (and to a lesser extent, Wesley)

In summary, when your watching a Joss Whedon production, keep your eye out for the person that you're supposed to care about most, cause they're the ones who are going to die.  Joss doesn't attack the sword or the shield, he cuts the legs out from under you.

PS  As a said before, I'm a huge fan of Joss and he's obviously a genius, but nobody's perfect.

Yeah, I mean, in the first episode of Firefly, he shot Kayley, and in Serenity, Wash got killed. (Spoiler, so highlight over that to see it. I don't know who's seen Serenity.

Anyway, I like the idea that Dr. Horrible would be kind of haunted by Penny, and she would be his lost conscience or something, reminding him of the terrible things he's done, and the path his life has taken.

I think that is an avenue that needs to be explored. I think that all the characters need to be revealed in depth.

I am The Green Dragon I leave no trail behind. I go about my evil deeds without stressing my mind. No one has ever caught up to me as they say. Then again people fear me more and more each day.
