My favorite song was in ACT II Misery/Rapture duet by NPH and Felicia Day.

My favorite lyric: ACT I-Man’s Gotta DO: Dr. Horrible: Whaatevvverr.

Reminded me of the first song in OMWF Buffy says the same to the dude she saves after he thanks her.

I also was really impressed with the ending credits orchestration. It’s really beautifully done.

I agree with you–I could listen to the Act II beginning over and over again. And I have.

I have to agree, my number 1 would be the opening of Act II.
It just pushes all my favorite buttons:
A song with cynical lyrics. A song about going mad. A song where two people are singing different things to different melodies and making harmony thereby.

Second place would have to be Brand New Day, as it hits some of those same buttons, plus a few others (angry lyrics), plus it has a kind of “metal” thing going.
I dig metal in musicals.

My favorite lyric (for the moment) is: I cannot believe my eyes, how the world's filled with filth and lies.

Come back in a few minutes and I'll probably pick somethign from Laundry Day. :)

I love the entire thing but I must say that my favorite song is the opening of act 2 and my favorite lyric is (if this can be considered part of a song)

Burrn, that's 2 "r's" in Horr- Burrn!

I laughed out loud when NPH did that

I think my favourite song is probably the ending song in Act II (Brand New Day), I listen to that all the time, I just enjoy the opening verse is sung, the…speed of it, I enjoy it. It's easily my favourite. However, in terms of catchiness, the original bad horse song is the one that gets stuck in my head the most.

However, I think my favourite lyric probably comes from Freeze Ray,

"That’s the plan
Rule the world
You and me
Anyday"

Because it's so sweet and yet evil at the same time, makes me laugh every time (even more so with the little wink NPH does).

Although, saying that, my msn name currently has "It's a Brand New Day, and the sun is high, All the angels sing because you're gonna die" from Brand New Day in it.

My favourite? Probably when the Hammer is singing that everyone's a hero.

When he comes out with the line:

Get up, go out and fly
Especially that guy
He smells like poo!

It KILLED me! And also when the line "go kill someone" seems to randomly pop up in the Bad Horse Phone Call.

I can't get Misery and Harmony out of my head, it is one of my favorites… though I've had all of them running through my head at some point this week (even the Bad Horse ones!).

But my favorite favorite is Horrible's song, after he freezes Captain Hammer. First, the spooky minor key and of course amazing voice of NPH helps quite a bit. Then, in the middle the "theme song" of the whole show is integrated, now with crazy lyrics, which is just awesome. And, while NPH proves his absolutely stunning acting abilities throughout the entire thing, he is just beyond amazing during this song. I keep noticing new little facial expressions and body movements every time I watch it. Fantastic!

In some ways I'm finding it disturbing that of all of the wonderful songs in Doctor Horrible, the lyrics that runs…um…gallops…gleefully through my brain the most are to: BAD HORSE.

"Bad Horse! Bad Horse!

Bad Horse! Bad Horse!
He rides across the nation: The Thoroughbred of Sin!

We got the application

that you just put in."

and

"…so make the Bad Horse gleeful,

or he'll make you his mare!"

When I heard that line I cracked up. "Oh no they didn't!!" Then I played it again. Oh yes, they did!

And in the Assasination version:

"There will be blood.

It might be yours.

So go kill someone.

Signed, Bad Horse."

You noticed that little "Yeah, baby. You and me." wink too, huh?

That lyric from Brand New Day is wonderful because the shot is of the Doctor with the blue sky and clouds and birds singing behind him…and on the "…because you're gonna die!" the camera swings 'round to a wide angle and it's Doctor Godzilla!

I LOVE that!!!

I change everytime I listen to them.

I guess I'll have to go with the rest of you, beginning of Act II and Brand New Day.

Fav lyrics are tough too. I do like the Whateeevverrr, and he bad horse "And he still votes "neigh"" Is brilliant just because it took me so long to get. But it's probably something from Horrible's end song.

Horrible's end song should be up in my favourites. This is far too hard.

This is, IMHO, the catchiest song; the one likely to become that illusive "cross over" hit, because it strike universal chords and you don't have to know anything about Dr. Horrible or Penny or their situation or anything else in the DH universe.

I do agree that the ACT II duet by NPH and Day is exceedingly well done.

My favourite was the brand new day song in act II. I also liked the song in act 3 after he's been frozen when he's got the death ray.

Fav song is defs “Brand New Day”, brilliantly arranged and performed. Fav lyrics however
 Well here’s just a few:

“I wanna say, love your hair, here I go, mumbling”

“Keep your head up Billy buddy”

“To the point where I don’t know if I’d upset the status quo if I threw poison in the water main ”

“Listen to everybody’s heart & hear that breaking sou-nd/Hopes & dreams shattering apart & crashing to the ground”

“Let’s all do our best/Next up, who’s gay?”

“We have a problem with her”

“Four Sweater vests”

“If your not a friggin’ ‘tard you will prevail”

“Fire up your brain, remind you that inside your rioting society is, slipping”

“Here lies everything, the world I wanted at my feet, my victory’s complete, so hail to the king”

"Now the nightmares real, now Doctor Horrible is here"

“A thing”

That’s enough.

My favourite song have to be "Brand New Day", Harris is great and the song is catchy, can't get it out of my head :P I really like "Freeze Ray" too. Well, all songs are great, but those two are the ones stuck in my head, and I like it, haha.

Brand New Day–the song so reflects the moment that evil overtakes the good in a person, an anthem to the moment the switch is flipped, wrapped in a rockin' chocolate coating. And the saddest thing is that Dr. Horrible knows it but I think even to him the line about presenting Penny with shiny new keys to Australia, sounds empty.

There's no single song I love over the rest. Each one is so amazing. I really like it when Penny sings but all of them are great.

But one of the really great points is when Dr. Godzilla sings "Cuz I'm a funny guy!" There's just that sense of evil when he does that.

Btw, Dr. Godzilla, what a great description AmazonGirl!
