Hmm…. I'm not at all sure about allowing linking to sites from people who will be making a direct profit from it… maybe you could offer a nice discount to people ordering after visiting this website or something?
Or maybe you could put a note in your description pointing to the Dr Horrible iTunes link. Both options would work in your favour as well as benefiting either the fans or the creators whose work you're benefiting from…

The white gloves are for TIG welding - do NOT use those for chemicals of any kind, or even hot liquids as the liquid will penetrate the leather *very* quickly. The black gloves Dr Horrible wears at the end are acid gloves, but may not be compatible with the gloves needed for general lab work. Check with your lead lab technician for compatibility.
Same thing for the goggles, as mentioned. You need splash goggles that are meant for the chemicals you will be using.
The lab coat is likely to be made from some organic, like cotton. Again, not a good thing for most chemistry applications as acids will eat through it quickly. Nitric acid will sensitize the cotton, and could result in a contact-sensitive explosive. Probably not something you'd like to be known for. Though you might get a bang out of it.
Don't compromise on your safety equipment… it's just not worth it.

Apparently a lot of people are having issues with Pendergast on due to a discrepancy between type of goggles displayed on their website and the ones they are receiving. People are getting in the green goggles that you see on ebay when they are expecting the silver ones that the good Doctor wears. I can't confirm this as I cancelled my order after not receiving a charge confirmation from them for a couple of days after placing the order. Can anyone else shed some light on the situation?

This is where a lot of the talk is happening. If you ordered from Pendergast, double check your stuff. They told me, “well it is a shade 5 filter.” It would be fine, but we're not using it for welding and really want what was show in the picture. Any updates from anyone who ordered would be appreciated.

I ordered the goggles from Pendergast, but due to their misrepresentation of their product, I sent them a polite e-mail asking if these were indeed the goggles in the picture on their site, and this is what they sent back:
“Please spread the word. We are not in the costume business. We are a industrial supply company with thousands of items. We did not want these small orders and were shipping them because many of you have called and begged for them. Manufacturers are constantly upgrading and changing frame colors. This would not matter to a welder. These are not sunglasses they are for welding and you can hardly see through them. I will cancel your order. Again please spread the word that we are not interested in selling these as a costume.”
Consider the word spread: Asshats.

Well, there's definitely something going on with Pendergast.

Money is money…what's the problem? If you have a picture with your description, make the picture correct or ask the customer if they are ok with something else.

Based on the fact that one of their employees posted on this forum asking people to buy from their site, I'm following up with the business to see what can be done.
I would ask that people please refrain from sending the company nasty messages and hopefully we'll be able to sort something out to keep everybody happy.

Dear Dr. Horrible fans. We posted these on this site because we were getting to many phone calls and hoped to direct people directly to the web site to order. We did not realize the goggles shipped into us from the manufacturer did not match the picture and were needed to match a costume.
Normally in our business this does not matter, they are for welding.
You may send them back for a full refund. We only shipped 21 pair before this matter was caught. Since than we have been getting very nasty phone callsfrom the fans of this site.
Anyone that purchased these goggles may send back for a full refund as explained in the many angry emails we have been getting.
Thanks
Dave

I have been informed that Pendergast Safety has issued full refunds to those that purchased the items AND said they can keep the item they have.
I think eveyone has to agree that while things got messy (on both ends) that Pendergast Safety has done the right thing and I hope that people will respond appropriately.

I made a set of goggles, and now actually have the right goggles for my corrected pair of Doctor Horrible goggles.
I also have the gloves. The labcoat, is pretty easy to fabricate, and I know where to get the boots.
Easy costume.

Nice work madrobot!! Yeah, even on the Doctor Horrible Dress Live Journal, it's pretty much been decided that creativity and goggle modding is the only way to create goggles similar to the good Doc's. But like I said on that forum, not being able to obtain the exact copy makes the Doc's original pair even more special. Even in Episode III, two of the groupies don't even have the same goggles. Plus, now we can see the awesome work, like madrobot's, on everyone's own unique set o' goggles. I can't wait to get mine to mod. Now for everyone else to start posting up their work =)

Where did you get your goggles from? I think a lot of us are looking for 6 vent goggles now.

I should have pics up of my corrected goggles over the weekend. A friend of mine wanted me to make a couple pairs, so I should have some more pics up most likely on Saturday.

For everyone working on painting their goggles to match real prop, what colors and types of paint are you using?

Does anyone know if these are correct? I sent them an email asking but their reply was so short and impersonel I have a feeling they didn't really check.

They look pretty close, but it's the placement of the vents that is giving people fits.
I happened to figure out how they made the goggles. I should have pics posted sometime late tomorrow after the paint cures.

I noticed that NPH wears at least two different pairs of goggles. During the Wonderflonium heist and in the archive footage of him getting beat up by Captain Hammer, it appears that he wears goggles with stationary lenses like those xDiablis seems to have found on Amazon. But in all the other scenes he wears a pair with flip-up lenses—which seems to be what most people are getting.
Anyway, I got mine here. They only have four vents, but they have the flip-up lenses—and, of course, they're green instead of silver as shown in the picture.
