His character on that show “Barney” is legendary. The show itself is hilarious. It's on CBS Mondays at 8. And it's followed by The Big Bang Theory (Moist's tv show).
Here are some clips. Check it out…

P.S: I swear, I'm not in any way affliated with the show, CBS or NPH. I'm just a huge fan of NPH, Whedon, Firefly and HIMYM.
P.P.S: Penny's webshow, “The Guild” is hilarious too. http://www.watchtheguild.com/
P.P.P.S: It doesn't need mentioning but Whedon and Captain Hammer's show “Firefly” is the best thing ever made in the history of the human race, and quite possibly the universe.

NPH is absolutely fantastic in HIMYM. I started watching it the day after i downloaded DH Act 1 from itunes and watched the first three seasons in three or four days.

Yeah, I agree with this. I went and downloaded season one last week because of how great NPH was in DH, and it's just brilliant. I'm not generally a fan of sitcoms as they tend to go for the lowest common denominator a lot of the time, but damn the show is good. It's brilliant.

I'm working my way through HIMYM, too. Does anyone else want to see an episode where Barney picks up a cute redhead at a karoke bar?

I guess I'm in the minority then. Barney seemed flat in comparison to Billy. I've struggled through a few eps of HIMYM, and it's just not my cup of tea I guess.

Well, you've earned yourself a convert. >_> oy. I've never seen NPH in anything, much less heard of him (I didn't realize until my adult life and Wikipedia that Doogie Howser was a fictional character, having never seen the show but only hearing people throw that name around when I would tell them, at age 13, that I wanted to be a neurosurgeon ;P). But oy. NPH rules as Barney. Watching him act is so MUCH FUN. There are some scenes that I just replay and replay and replay just to stare at the little nuances he has to his acting.
The only actor I had any kind of familiarity with was Felicia Day. The Guild rocks my world. *coughs*
