Kinda on topic, kinda off. I know that I just had the brilliantly heartbreaking experience of watching the final installment of Doctor Horrible, and my mind is still buzzing. But that's partly because I also just watched the most recent episode of Doctor Who to be released in the US, "Turn Left," in which Russell T. Davies (the writer) showed himself to have plotlines almost as twisted as Whedon's.

So I'm curious if anyone else here watches Doctor Who and has interpretations of either Doctor show. :)

Hopes and dreams are shattering apart and crashing to the ground.

I'm a MASSIVE fan of Doctor Who, and of Dr. Horrible, of course. :P

So which season are you up to in the US? We've finished Season 4 and are waiting on the 2009 specials. Have you heard the bad news regarding David Tennant…?

Although, you've just given me a brilliant idea… NEIL PATRICK HARRIS AS THE 12TH DOCTOR PLZKTHX!!!!

Neither is NPH, although he did a nice Scottish accent when he played Toby in the Sweeney Todd concert. Dunno if they'd allow that but still… one can hope :D

I can't think of anyone that could surpass David Tennant, though.

Hey there,

phantastic, there is a Doctor Who thread.

I am right now watching "Doctor Who" for the first time and I just stumbeld over the 2 season episode "Love and monsters" and I couldn't but notice some similarities with Dr. Horrible. And of course, the first thing I did, was going into the internet to find out more about it.

Is this old news and everyone is now hitting their foreheads about the stupid new girl?

What similarities, you ask?

1) the episode is made as a video or blog thing

2) Elton, the guy in the episode looks a bit like NPH and the character is the same kind of mixture between goofy and trying to hard.

3) the whole style of the shows is alike.

4) there even is a scene in a laundromat!

5) tragic death (well kind of) of Eltons girl.

So, again, is this old news? Maybe even already commented on by Joss himself?
