But blogging is the "in" thing to do these days hehe.

Seriously, who hasn’t googled their own name? :p

I think she calls hers a Flog.

It kind of reminds me of the opening sequence to Serenity - ie, a story inside a dream inside a hologram… a blog about a blog about a blog… see the similarity? No? Oh well.

What I really wanted to ask - Tal, are you Tal from Uni HD Boards?

And Fraser - I honestly don’t think I have googled my own name. Lol - I imagine that sort of thing would be heaps more fun if you were a famous actress rather than a struggling muso…

Yes,  but it’s really freaky/funny seeing loads of pages about people with the same name as you, especially if you have an unusual name. I mean, you can prove to your friends that you saved someone from the fire/got a medical degree/starred in a low-budget breakaway art-house flick because there is your name on the Internet….

Ok. So I took your advice worldofhiglet and googled my name. This is a copy and paste of what came up.

Me and my girl friend own a sheepdog, she has had it for the last 11 years, he’s an awesome dog, bit funny around other dogs sometimes. He has never worked or done obedience trials or anything he has just been a great pet. I’m not overly sure where he came from they got him at 6 months old. Many people have said he is a welsh sheepdog but I am trying to find out if this is true. He is short haired and brown and white, now he has never worked but whenever he sees sheep, a cat, a rabbit, squirrel anything like that he stands upright looking right at whatever he has seen and starts driving forward. Also he has a tendency to nip our heels sometimes and the heels of strangers coming into our house. Although he is 11 he looks and acts like a much younger dog.

The most interesting thing that came up in the first 5 pages of searching (after giving up in abject misery) was a credit for making ‘crowd noise’ on Aaron Carters classic release from 2000 - ‘Come Get It’. ‘Come Get it’ is track 2 on the album Aaron’s Party, right before the big hit ‘I Want Candy’. I explain this, because if there are any 8 year old girls reading this there is a slight chance they will be impressed.

Man, I’m so depressed  Frown  Why can’t at least one of us - in the entire history of the internet - do something cool so that I can take some credit?

After I stopped laughing, I thought that maybe I should take some responsibility for your pain…

Ok Bud - it’s down to you! You have to do something of note, preferably legal, that will bring honour and respect to your good name. Not just for you, but for the legions of other <insert Bud’s real name here> there are in the world.

I have some suggestions, and I’m sure the good folks on this here message board can rustle up some others. This is the path to happiness and good googling in the future.

1. Change your name. Find someone who has done something(s) really great and change your name to theirs. Yes, ‘Joss Whedon’ is a candidate, but you have to be able to pull off wide-eyed innocence and have hair that refuses to be tamed.

2. Bring peace to any of the world’s many conflict zones. You could start small (the neighbours down the street who refuse to stop rowing at 2.00 am) and work up to the major ones (take your pick).

3. Save a cute animal. Preferably endangered. And small. Fluffy is also good. And make sure you do it on camera so that it can be uploaded to YouTube. Avoid things with talons, sharp teeth, poison sacks and scales, you just won’t get any ‘good google points’ for them (and you will also possibly die).

So, a few suggestions there for you to think about. I hope it shows that I take your plight seriously and that I want to help.

Hmm… some thought provoking suggestions that warrant further speculation.

I am particularly keen on ‘1. Change your name’. It seems the most likely option. I think I’ll run with ‘Brad Pitt’. Could help my predicament no end.

Option ‘2. Bring peace to the world’s many conflict zones’ is an interesting proposition. But unfortunately before tackling the disagreements in the Middle East, I would first have a political nightmare trying to dismantle the parking dispute over the car wash bay between my flatmate and all the other residents in the apartment block. I have a feeling she believes that she outnumbers them, 1 - 28. If I could start with the Middle East then work my way back to the local area, I would consider this option.

Option ‘3. Save a cute animal’. I live in Australia. Most of the animals here kill anything that sneezes in a 20 foot radius. I could opt to try saving a koala bear, but that would involve standing in the way of a logger with a chainsaw. An Australian logger. Who woke up grumpy, hungover and has copped abuse from the boss all day.

Bradley. It’s a good name. Think I’ll run with that.

Well, I’m glad that you have a plan. That’s important. You might want to reconsider Brad Pitt, though. For people in the UK, it does have an unfortunate meaning in rhyming slang…

Hmmm… Johnny Depp then … ?

Take a shep? - seems safe enough… ?

Meh, perhaps identity theft isn’t the best way forward anyway. I mean ‘Joss Whedon’ was an option until you said something about having hair.

Well maybe Joss will sport a smooth new ‘do for the grand unveiling of Doctor Horrible here he also has no hair- it could happen!

But I think you’re right, it’s either world peace or back to the drawing board to think up some new suggestions.
