I am The Green Dragon I leave no trail behind. I go about my evil deeds without stressing my mind. No one has ever caught up to me as they say. Then again people fear me more and more each day. |

I had to watch Dr. Horrible for my "Classical Mythology" class at the University of Iowa a few months ago. I don't follow any of Joss's projects, so I had never heard of it. The TA assigned it for our discussion class, since we were learning about heroic archetypes in lecture. When she first told us about the assignment, I was less than thrilled to say the least. A super-villian musical??? It just sounded dumb. Our assignment was to write down our thoughts for the discussion prompts and be ready to discuss them in class. And, there was also an optional extra credit paper. In doing this assignment, I made 2 mistakes: #1..I put off watching Dr. Horrible until the night before the assignment was due and #2.. I just watched Act I and II before I went to work that evening. I just couldn't concentrate at work. I didn't think that I would get so into Dr. Horrible, but I did. After work, I watched Act III, finished the assignment, and was able to crank out a 5-page extra credit paper. So long story short, Dr. Horrible is the reason I got an A+ in Classical Mythology. Best. Assignment. Ever.

I heard about Dr Horrible from Television Without Pity and being a fan of Joss Whedon and all the praise it was getting watching it was inevitable.

I was listening to the latest My American Life podcast where Joss Whedon (return to the scene of the scene) actually played his after very clever and thought provoking quasi analysis of any analysis of any literary work…
I think I am cult like addicted to Dr Horrible…. save me?

I found out from some boys at school, they kept telling me how good it was so I looked it up. They tried to convince our Drama teacher to let them perform it; sadly she said no. I'm so glad I looked it up! So brilliant!

Ah… a long story, this one. I'm a fan of the show Ellen and I attempt to watch it daily. The Friday before NPH hosted the 2009 Emmys he was a guest on her show. Thinking he was adorable, I decided to watch the Emmys the following Sunday. I took a shower midway through, and when I came out the Dr. Horrible segment was on. Obviously I didn't get it and brushed it aside. The next day I was reading the 3-Minute Record section of my town's newspaper and there was an article about the Emmys, mentioning Dr. Horrible as one of the "highlights of the night". Curious, I Googled it and watched it. Love at first sight! I had no idea who Joss Whedon was up to that point. Dr. Horrible also led me to watching How I Met Your Mother and Castle. The Guild seems just dorky to me. Dr. Horrible also led to me following NPH, which is why I watched Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and will watch Yes, Virginia. And that's the story!
