There's been some information floating around the internet that Dr Horrible will be pulled from iTunes on the 29th of July however we are assured that this is not correct.
In addition to remaining in the US & Canadian iTunes stores, Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog will be available in iTunes stores in other countries soon.
Work is continuing on a CD of the soundtrack and the DVD release of Dr Horrible will also be available internationally. According to Joss Whedon in a recent Q&A at WashingtonPost.com it will be released as "soon as we can" and will definitely be available before Christmas.
We'll keep you updated on the latest news.

This rumour seems to be spreading far and wide, feel free to reassure people that it's not coming down from iTunes on the 29th and it WILL be available internationally.

I loved watching it. I told everyone I knew about it.
However, I don't live in USA or Canada. I was understanding of the delay initially.
Though now, I'm just irritated. I help spread the word freely and now when I want to purchase the iTunes copy to have on my iPod, I can't.
So who's holding out for more money? The Whedon camp or Apple?

Huh?
I don't get the connection. There's International red-tape to jump that iTunes (and in turn "the Whedon camp") must abide (just like DVD region codes). They thought they had more time ("[interest] grow over time") to deal with it.

I don't think money is an issue, it's just really complicated to get stuff approved for all the different coutnries, they all have different requirements and it's complilcated – not to mention that the team working on it are busy with a bunch of other things just now too – they're all at Comic Con this week which is a huge thing so that's probably slowed them down a little to.. They ARE working on it and I'm sure we'll hear news very soon.

and… what TheGamut said – they really weren't expecting to have an instant hit on their hands, they thought it was something that would slowly gain interest as the word spread around the net – but it all kind of happened super fast all at once … so there's been a lot of stuff to deal with and no doubt a much shorter timeline than they had anticipated

All I know is that the instant the album and DVD go up on amazon for pre-order, I'm there. I can think of at least half a dozen different people this'd be a great gift for.

I'm pretty surprised that Joss & Co. weren't expecting the reception they got. It seemed like a classic lowered-expectations gambit:" Oh, we're just putting this little thing out there, we'll be thrilled if anyone likes it or watches it." I think Joss knows that he's reached the point where fans would line up to buy his grocery lists sight unseen.

They expected the viral marketing to work better for Serenity than it did, and while the word did eventually get out and sell Serenity an awful lot of DVDs, it took a long time to happen, and not opening weekend like they'd hoped… so maybe they "learnt" from that experience that fans spreading the word takes time…. but in this case, it didn't!

Yes, they did get burned by Serenity. But Serenity was a big-budget film, and would have needed viewers outside the WhedonFanVerse to clear any kind of $$. Even all of the hardcore fans in the theaters on opening weekend wouldn't have made a big enough splash in that very big pond. But Dr. Horrible was a very low-budget project, and I think that just tapping the core fan market alone would be enough to break even, and because the free-week viewing experience was free and easy to access (you don't even have to leave your house!), I think the explosive first reaction was a little more predictable.

I would have gone to see Serenity in the theaters if I had known about it. But when I learned about it, I watched all the Firefly eps on Sci-fi (including the two that Fox did not air). ("Eps" is a valid Firefox word? I have spell check turned on for this field.)

I know it'll probably take awhile to master the CD and DVD and then mass producing them, but I sincerely hope they come out much closer than Christmas. By then, I'll probably forget about it…

Seriously, though, if they don't want us to go all Piratey, then let us buy the damn show! I *want* to buy it – to support Joss, and everything he's done – but I also want to show other people, and there's a torrent sitting right there, which would give me immediate and FREE access.
What's so hard? Joss owns the show, right? What makes it so much harder to put it on the Aussie iTunes than the US? Why wouldn't you organise this BEFORE releasre? And seriously, if it's more than, say AU$3 an episode (compared to the US $2), again I'm looking towards other options. Not because it's too much to pay, but because we're being ripped off!

Right now, ITUNES must be having trouble with this file. I can't get it to download. It keeps telling me the file is corrupt.

My (very limited) understanding of iTunes is that it keeps partial files for continuing the download. My guess is that there's a partial stuck that's corrupt and that iTunes won't continue becouse of the corrupted partial. There's a way to clear it, but BE CAREFUL. You don't want to undo your purchase. Check the Apple site for assistance. They will also have other things to try as well.
