Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knew more about the Evil League of Evil video submission contest? Is there a site up and running for this? Who will be acting as the middleman for the ELoE to accept video submissions? When is the closing date?

Cheers

Alas, I'd like to apply…but I don't have, nor do I know anyone who has, a video camera.

Hell, I just recently got a digital camera. That's 2 years old. It was given to me by a friend who didn't want it anymore because she upscaled and bought a newer one.

“Digital cameras are cheap!”, you say? To who? Not to me!

Will there be a way where those of us who don't have the big bucks for a vid cam set-up (like Dr. Horrible) to apply with, oh let's say an essay?

Web Camera? That's how I imagine most submissions to be made… Web Cam and headset/microphone… you can get both for under 20 dollars… though for a reasonable webcam you should spend more than the bare minimum… you can get them cheaper or as cheap as 10 dollars.. but I would spend at least 20-30 on a webcam. If you want the video quality to be decent..

That'd be kind of hard to include on the DVD, however. Perhaps fans can try a community exercise with this and those with cameras can put out invitations for other fans without cameras to get together and record submissions.

Make a meetup out of it.

I am sooooo there. I think I should have something ready to go whenever they want submissions.

I just got a new HD camera.

Be aware that HD video files are very hard to processs, they take up alot of space, and have compatibility issues with some players. Also, they can crash a program if your processor isn't up for the HD video size.

And sending them via interwebs? good luck…

It's okay, I still have my old Samsung which works pretty well. Have a ton of editing software too.

For those without a video camera, most still digital cameras have a video mode - that would be suitable I would think, though some only record for a set period of time which may mean you have to do it in bits and then edit it together

agreed.

The samsung should be fine. What editing programs you have? Do you use any post software other than editing??

Ya, the digi cam should work, wont get much audio though. Something to consider , like using a microphone with it. any would work, from a marantz sound recorder, to your comp. just dont use analog, lol

I just have Sony Vegas Pro, and a few other retail programs that do a pretty good job. I also have the Sony Studio for sound editing which is really pretty cool. I have Adobe After Effects, and some other special effects programs.

I'm giving a lot of thought to my Super Villain Persona.

I fortunately have a studio to make all kinds of stuff happen here.
