Hi All, just wondering has there been any posting for a list of who actually made onto the DVD for the ELE competition? And although its probably too late do you think they should have a list of all the entries with their respective You Tube or Vimeo tag addresses on the DVD release somewhere?

I wondered that too.  You'd think if people got a call or email they would be blowing up message boards about it (”I'm in the ELE! I was selelcted!”), but I haven't seen anything personally.

Only thing I can figure is winners were not notified (they'll find out when they see the DVD?) or they were notified & sworn to secrecy OR they are going to notify folks right on December 19th.

I was going to enter…I swear I was…I'll do it next time!
*Still regrets not getting it together in time*

Yeah, I entered the comp and haven't heard anything… and I haven't heard of anyone who has (done a pretty extensive search for people announcing anything online) - So I think they're keeping it a surprise. Could be wrong though.

PS, if you're interested, here's my entry Wink

I know we all consented to have the vids used by ELoE, but it would seem they would contact the winners just to cross all the legal T's. Oh well, we'll find out soon enough.

YES, I’m a puppet. Doesn’t mean you don’t have work to do

Maybe people voided those copyright rights once they entered the competition, who knows I can't remember reading anything like that though.

Interesting - I've been wondering about this, too. I have heard NOTHING about anyone being selected but I would really think that they would notify the people beforehand and not just include them on the DVD without telling them. My guess (and it is only a guess!) is that the people who are on the DVD know already but have been asked not to say anything until after the release. It does make you wonder why, though…..

I'm just hoping my DVD gets to me before the New Year :)

If anyone from team Horrible asked me to keep my mouth shut until the 19th, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I would also run around naked through Time's square yelling “Buy Dr. Horrible on DVD” if they asked - but that's a different story.

I tend to agree with the speculation that the top 10 have been contacted.

Think about it - anyone dedicated enough to make a top 10 ranked entry would have enough respect for Team Whedon to 'keep mum' about their status if they were asked to.

Personally, I would love to hear about rejection letters from Bad Horse going out to all the other entries, but I realise that is a bit unlikely.

I threw my evil hat in the ring, too, and I was glad to see a thread about this (Higlet–I was hoping you'd try to wheedle some ELE answers out of Felicia!  Lovely interview, at any rate).  The idea that the winners were contacted and had to sign an non-idsclosure agreement a while ago makes goodly sense (and I'd respect Joss and Co. for wanting everyone else to be surprised.  Surprises are fun, and it provides a lil extra dvd incentive).

But…maybe they wanted to surprise winners, too (or not have to worry about secrecy/NDA's), and assumed no one would object to being included on the dvd without signing stuffs.  So I'm holding on to my evil fantasies for another week.  If I can spend 4 months dreaming of the Bad Horse Chorus showing up at my door, I can hold out for a few more days :)

I'm glad you liked the Felicia Day interview, thanks! Luckily she saw the funny side of the ELE application I did on her behalf Surprised.

I'm sure that she wouldn't have told me if I had asked about the applications, but the truth is I never thought of asking her. All this is uncharted territory for everyone concerned and if I gave the impression that I'd given up hope - then that would be wrong. Of course I am still hoping against hope to be on the DVD! I was trying to work out if I could not be on the Internet from Dec 19th to whenever my DVD comes, but that is unpossible, so I'll be awaiting the first posts from people in the US to find out for sure.

Everyone who did an application is a winner anyway - we've helped to make entertainment history!

I didn't enter myself so never paid attention, but I would imagine it would have said somewhere in the conditions of entry that the winning entries would be used on the DVD and by entering you're granting permission for such?  Which would mean no agreement would need to be signed as anyone who entered agreed…?
