I was just trying to get a friend of mine to watch Dr. Horrible, but found that suddenly the video shows up as unavailable outside the US, which it didn't before. What's up with that?

They call me moving guy,
because I move the audience to tears!

Yes – me too here in Australia.
Has worked previously – though I never got any ads with it – which obviously wasn't a problem.

The rest of us are imaginary. The world is flat and USA-shaped. Hulu are a bunch of muppets.

But, the USA isn't flat. Canada isn't imaginary (or else there would be no Alaska, unless Alaska [and thereby Canada] is just a conspiracy plot… after all my trip to Alaska 6 years ago was cancelled).
If the ads were not showing outside of the USA, that's a problem. I seem to recall (with my sometimes perfect and other times wrong memory) that someone said there was a problem and they were working on it. I don't seem to recall where I heard that (or possibly read that).

Me, too, in Australia – was just checking in on it before going round to a friend's place to introduce them to the wonder of Horribleness, and… nothing.
GAARGH!!! I just want to buy the damn thing so this stops being a problem, but nooooo, can't do that, and now I can't stream it either. Come on, guys, it's just not cool to stop the signal.
*sigh* I guess I'll just have to think of other imaginary topics of discussion with my imaginary friends in my imaginary country.

Hi,
This is what works for me (in Canada):
The Dr Horrible team gave this link:http://www.kuanhoong.com/2007/12/18/how-to-watch-hulu-shows-outside-of-usa/ to enable people outside the US access toHulu. You have to download a small application that gives you a US IP address but then you can watch. So this is what you do:
1. Go to http://www.kuanhoong.com/2007/12/18/how-to-watch-hulu-shows-outside-of-usa/ 2. Download the AnchorFree application, read the instructions and install it 3. Click on the Anchor and ensure it goes to green 4. Go to http://www.drhorrible.com/ to watch and be stunned.

Anyone else outside the USA try this yet?
(Of course, IPv6 is supposed to stop stuff like this from happening, but I doubt that. The USA's FCC [I think it's our FCC] prohibits anyone from guaranteeing security or privacy by electronic communication for a very good reason. It's mathematically impossible to have an unbreakable code and, thereby, impossible to have an unhackable situation whenever public communications are concerned… especially when it's so easy to spoof and sniff/snort over networks [land, satellite, cellular, or etc.].)

I'm in Canada and also unable to access the Hulu version.
This makes it extremely hard to recommend it to friends.
When it was accessible on Hulu first week, recommendations were all followed with purchases. They could watch it for free, fall in love with it, then run out and spend. And spend they did.
Just like I did first week.
I just don't get why the availability was pulled back into US only again.
It *was* available, for two periods. What changed, and when will it be up again?

Tried the free anchor and it works! Gives you annoying flashing adverts but you can turn these of when you don't need the application on.

I hate this on just about the same level as I hate region lockout on every level. it's criminal, the arguments used for it are all false,a nd the opposite is true. (arguments used are that is helps a free economy, when in fact it does the opposite.)
in a world that is so proud of globalisation, these protectionist measures only lead to piracy. people will argue "If I can't get it legally, then I guess I have no option but to get it illegally"

Come on, guys.
I thought half the point of Dr. Horrible was to be outside the system that mandated when things could be available where and to whom.
I'm not going to rant again. I'm just going to say I'm getting really really sick of not being a pirate.

Bah! I wanted to watch this again today, but was met with Hulu's unfriendly error message.
I understand that Hulu needs copyright permission to broadcast outside of the USA, but didn't Joss et al. already give them permission? What's the deal?

I'm really annoyed by this, I keep checking back every couple of weeks, hoping and hoping they might have changed it but no still no viewing I'm missing out on my Doctor Horrible fix… I really hope they have it streaming outside the US again soon or at least release Dr. Horrible to iTunes users worldwide!

People in the UK have nothing to complain about. Need I bring up the BBC's attitude towards the timely export of Doctor Who? You can't even stream the Doctor's video previews online if you live outside England. Seriously, if you think it's that big an issue, write the BBC about it. We'll change our stance when you change yours.

Apparently Hulu has taken precautions against us imaginary Euromunchkins watching their pixels:

That's what I got using the application anyway. Big ol' shame. Any other solutions asides from buying the DVD? I am a very poor Euromunchkin…
