Oh – Wait – so DUH! Obvious question here – sporting my Average Intelligence for all to see – did the afore mentioned Villians know that they were included before the review came out?
Tur-Mohel, be a mench and let us know – will ya? You're killing us here…
Average Out!
Average – That is indeed the million dollar question. I've been ready to give up hope, but my friends and coworkers keep up with their infuriating encouragement.
The suspense is near fatal.

I wonder too who made it into the top 10 unfortunately I didn't learn about Dr. Horrible intil early this month or late last month can't remember so I didn't know about the contes. Though if I did I probably wouldn't win I got that kind of aura about me. XD Plus I have a bad feeling that with my voice Bad Horse would go deaf and I would look more like a superhero and less like a super villian. XD Oh well I am intrigued and eventually will buy it. I can't right now because of Christmas hey even evil villians need to spread something other then um fear. XD
This is The Green Dragon signing out.

Just had a kind word from Emmett Furey who did the 'Fury of Solace' app, which for my money was a frontrunner…
"I appreciate the vote of confidence, fellow evil-doers. But if my entry is on the DVD, then they are even keeping the winners in the dark, because I have received no word from the Horse since the automated response to entering the contest back in October. I figure that bodes ill for my chances, since I have to assume that the winners had to A) sign some form of release to get on the DVD and B) send Whedon and company a better quality version of their video for use on the DVD. My working theory is that I was not among the winners, that the winners were all contacted, and were told not to speak of it until the DVD's release. My understanding is that advanced review copies of the DVD were given out with the understanding that reviewers were not to reveal certain aspects of its content, including, but not limited to, the winners of the ELE contest. If that is in fact the case, it would go a long way towards suggesting that the winners were also asked to keep their victories on the down low. That said, one uninformed reviewer did reveal three of the winners in his advanced review: Tur-Mohel, Mr. Terrible and Lord Stabbington. Another advanced review revealed that in addition to the 10 winners, there is a minute-long "Dishonorable Mentions" list. As of now, I have no information regarding the identity of the other 7 winners, or that of the Dishonorable mentions. However, I did read on Whedonesque the first report of someone receiving their Dr. Horrible DVD shipment from Amazon, so I imagine the veil of silence will soon be lifted. Good luck to us both.

Sounds pretty on the money to me…

Hey All,
going by a post over at whedonesque.com, the winners were as follows:
Mr. Terrible – Blasco Calamitous Orphan – Elbi Princess Zombie – Campbell The Reverend – Ervig-Lindquist L'Enfant Terrible – Caccavo Duchess of Defeet – Idan Tur Mohel – Lewis & Dubin Movie Monkey – Kral Miss Broadway Dork – Heinen Lord Stabbington – Sharp & Follows
It's in there comments section by a poster who apparently received their copy early, click here and scroll down through the comments. Can't say it's a completely legit list, but then can't really think why they'd put out a bogus list either.

Well just want to say congrats to all those that made the final ten – I look forward to viewing them on the DVD (though that could be quite awhile yet, since amazon when I ordered quoted me sometime between January – February 09!)
I posted my dignified response on youtube Here – fun as always : )

As a good friend of the Reverend (Vincent E.L. (And that's Ervig-Lindqvist)), I can confirm that those are indeed the winners and that they were all sworn to secrecy and what-have-you. I'm so proud of Vince! By the wizzle, his website is http://www.swenglish.nu
I, too, entered a video (The Evil League of Evil String-Along Application) which The Reverend makes a reference to in his video. Check it out at http://www.MintyPineapple.com/string.html
Sorry for pimping.

Well, since it is now release day, it is probably safe to say that yes, the winners were notified ahead of time, and told very clearly that if they told anyone else about who won, their submissions would be removed from the DVD. There was an evil contract that needed to be signed, and the higher quality videos had to be sent in to make it onto the DVD.

I thought DIE-ronic was a shoe in also (the jazz hands at the end get me every time). I was pretty sure I wouldn't make the cut, but had fun anyway, and my evil alter ego, "Brain Bender", made it one the "Dishonorable Mention" list. I think pretty much EVERYONE who entered as mentioned, but it was still cool to see it.

I thought The Cutinator got shafted.
In fact I can't find her name on the dishonerable mention list either. Sure it was just singing and a silly dog nose costume, but it was a really catchy tune.
Her Awesome song (what would NPH do?) is also really funny if you haven't heard it.
My General E. Ancient got stuck about halfway down the list, but my friends video Fright Sprite (That I filmed and cameod in, was in the top 75 of the dishonorable mention, before the text got small and started speeding up.
Not bad for 6 hours work.

I'm really disappointed by the ones that were selected, there were so many better ones IMHO. Baron Mind, DIE-ronic, and The Steward were some of my favourites. But congrats of course to the final choices.

I think they were going for a variety of criteria (just my own personal guess):
1. original idea
2. execution/ good production (good singing)
3. representing a diverse state and particularly country….
therefore I think submissions from other countries were more likely to be given more attention than the dozens of submissions from California (for instance)
I think this because you'll notice that everyone of the winners are from someplace different.

The 4th honorable mention on the DVD was DIE-hard. I can't find this application on youtube or vimeo. Am I a bad searcher or is it a possible misprint?

I have to think the same thing Embers.
Pretty much every published review of the video has also extolled the diversity of regional submissions accepted into the ELE.
The truth is there were a bunch of my faves that I thought for sure would make it that didn't. But it sure has been fun watching how much creativity this little contest has inspired accross the globe and in our own geographic regions.
Kudos to the winners and to everyone else as well.
In truth, we all did 'an Okay job'

Congrats Everyone who made it. I think to be honest The Reverend is the worst one but I mean that in a good way. The Reverend scares you and that's what a supervillian should do. Though my faveorite is Tur-Mohel. XD
